MOL Chemical Tankers Has Won “Deal of the Year” at the Lloyd’s List Global Awards 2019 following the Europe Awards 2019 awarded recently.

According to the explanation by Lloyd’s List, “the 2019 Lloyd’s List Global Awards are the culmination of the 2019 Lloyd’s List Excellence in Shipping Awards – the industry’s flagship awards programme that recognises and rewards excellence across all sectors of maritime.
Winners of 2019 regional awards were automatically entered into the Global Awards, and were independently judged by a panel made up of senior editorial staff and members of Lloyd’s List Editorial Board to find the overall global winner from key categories, giving winners the opportunity to be doubly recognised for their excellence and achievements, setting them apart from the competition both locally and globally.”

Lloyd’s List commented “In a year of difficult decisions, our judges felt this one made sense. MOL’s bold bid to acquire Nordic Tankers in 2019 stood to reason amid wider market consolidation, but also in terms of efficiency and service network.

By adding Nordic Tankers’ fleet, the company now operates more than 80 chemical tankers and is the second largest operator in the sector and continues to grow.”
